In 2020, The Waukesha Service Club celebrated 90 years of valuable community service to Waukesha County.  The Club currently has approximately 100 members with an additional 50 members in Senior League.  These dedicated women have enjoyed leadership opportunities and friendships that last a lifetime.

For the first year in Waukesha Service Club new members are scheduled with a seasoned member to clerk 40 work dates (3.75 hour shifts) divided between both retail shops to learn the details of the clerking positions, while receiving an overview of the organization.  Schedules are created and offer flexibility.  The duties of the clerks are to welcome and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner, circulate, open and close the shop, operate the cash register system, account for money during the assigned shift, restock merchandise, maintain a clean and orderly shop, answer inquiries, and take phone orders (at the Gift Shop).  After the initial year members are also encouraged to serve on the many committees available.  This allows for the diversity of members’ talents to be utilized.

Monthly meetings are typically held the first Monday of each month with the exception of July and August.  All members are encouraged to attend meetings, where they can learn more about the organization and build friendships.

Membership:  How to Join

A Prospective Member meeting is held three times a year in which women wanting more information about Waukesha Service Club have the opportunity to learn a brief history of the Club, meet current members, learn about the organization, and the commitments entailed in joining Waukesha Service Club. The Club welcomes women of all ages, races, religions, and national origins who are committed to volunteerism and have the ability to dedicate time to working in the two retail shops.  Attendance at two New Member Orientation Meetings is required along with an annual payment of $100.00  in dues. The annual dues provide for the “Inspired to Serve” fall luncheon and contributes toward the administrative costs of the Club, which includes such things as hiring a CPA for the annual financial review, insurance, meeting space rental, postage, website maintenance, printing costs, office supplies, and additional technology expenditures.
